Christmas Lights in Victoria
There is a lot of fun and delight to be had from Christmas lights, for the young and the young at heart! Some homes have lights in their tree, some haveĀ just a few lights visible to the world, but there is a growing number of homes (and businesses) that make a display every Christmas for many people to enjoy.
Next year, when you are thinking about where to go for some Christmas magic, try some of the magnificent light displays across Victoria.

Share the light displays you know of – give an address or directions to find the displays so other people can enjoy those lights, too.
Rank the displays as follows:
4 Santas – spectuclar displays that are an event in themselves
3 Santas – displays that are worth taking a detour to on your way home
2 Santas – displays that locals should know about for choosing the best route home
1 Santa – nice displays that perhaps aren’t worth travelling to, but are enjoyable just the same

For absolute wow affect,in Melbourne, you have to see the lights in Burwwod Highway, Burwood. (I don’t know the number but it is between Middleborough and Station St)
This house has decorations in their yard, in the garage, in external facing rooms, along the fence and even on the neighbour’s garage roof!
People are welcome to walk up the driveway to see it all – it is free but you can choose to make a donation or buy a raffle ticket. All money collected goes to a hospital that helped the daughter of the house – her story is on display, too.
I’d say 4 santas for this one!

Oh, and traditionally, the Boulevard near Studley Park is the place to go for Christmas and city lights.
3 or 4 santas for that one.

On holiday, we saw some lights in front of a house. They were big but I htink hey stood out even more because there was nothing but paddocks aroudn them!
It was on the highway between Kilcunda and Wonthaggi – on the south side of the road about 4 kms from Kilcunda.
3 santas if you live on the coast!

We had a house around the corner from us that was amazing, lights and Santa’s everywhere! My boys loved looking at the “Christmas House”, even when it wasn’t all lit up.

And it is already set up – we saw it today!

We saw the Burwood Hwy lights again last night, and there are now a couple of houses in nearby Benwerrin Dve who have also lit up. If you stop for Burwood Hwy, you can easily walk to check out these ones as well.
