I just came across this free Christmas planning ebook (with printable extras like a baking planner) that may be useful for lots of people. I’m all for planning and do bits and spieces of Christmas prepartions ahead of time – keep Christmas fun not stressful!
What tips can you share for planning a happy Christmas?
Make sure your gift list has correct sizes, colors etc.. When giving away those baked goodies keep in mind who may have allergies. For baking this goodies have a list of all ingredients, buy in bulk and do all your baking the same day.
Allergies are becoming more and more of an issue – I’m grateful none of my children have any food concerns (and they eat pretty much anything!)
If you’re not sure of soemone’s allergies (eg if baking for teachers, leaders, coaches, etc), I add a little note listing the ingredients so they can check if the food is safe for them – or not. Sad if they get a gift they can’t eat, but better than eating it and getting sick – or not eating and enjoying it out of unnecessary fear.
I have already been gathering my craft supplies for the upcoming giving season, as soon as that grand baby gets here I’ll be under way crafting. I hate waiting until the last minute. My plan is always to get things done ahead of time. Which helps with this things that pop up you can’t plan for.
I agree that doing things ahead of time reduces stress and stops problems if the unexpected pops up. And getting crafts done before a baby distracts you with cuddles and smiles is a sound plan, pocs!
Now with my little pickle here to thrill me with little grins and coos I can move ahead full steam with my holiday prep. My Halloween decorations are set and ready to go, so I can focus in Christmas here on out. Christmas is just around the corner.
Just under 4 months to go, and my list of things to do for Christmas is underway, too.
